Stitch Fix Review Numero Uno

After reading posts from Laura and Mandy last week, I knew it was time to try out Stitch Fix. I scheduled my first fix last Friday and it arrived on my doorstep by Wednesday. What the whaaaat?! Talk about speedy service!

I didn't understand how the whole thing worked at first, but now that I did it one time around, I feel like I'm a pro! They make it super convenient while keeping it personal. Basically, you sign up, fill out your style profile, and schedule your first fix for a flat rate of $20. Your stylist picks out things she thinks you'd totally ROCK and it arrives at your doorstep days later. Literally. From there, you try everything on and decide what you'd like to keep. You login to your account on their website, choose the things you wish to purchase, and send the rest of the items back in a prepaid shipping envelope they send along. The best part? The $20 flat rate you originally paid can be put towards whatever you purchase!

Here are the details from my first fix complete with dirty bedroom mirror pictures, natural hair, and poor lighting! No judgies, okay? It's Friday... ;)

1.) Mint Polka Dots

Seriously. Two of my favorite things into one dress?! My stylist has to have seen my Pinterest style board. Either that or she stalks me and has clearly figured out the way to my heart. I have a few winter weddings to attend and this would be the PERFECT dress to wear with a fun sweater and some sparkly tights! While I absolutely adore everything about this beauty, it was a bit too big. It's hard for me to put down a dress size because I've been anywhere from a 0-4. Therefore, I had to let this one go. I blew it kisses as I was walking back to the house from the mailbox!

2.) Flowy Chevron Top

One word: PURCHASED. This top is the comfiest, prettiest one in my closet now and I cannot wait to wear it with leggings and a cardigan this fall. It's a tiny bit longer in the back to cover my booty and it has the prettiest little fold detail in the back. The sizing was perfect, too!

3.) Blue Cardigan

When I initially pulled it out of the package, I thought, "nooooo way." Then, I tried it on. So lightweight. So soft. And it looked really freaking good with the chevron top I was already in love with + wearing! I did have a hard time parting with this one, but I just couldn't justify the pricetag!

4.) Bird/Lace Tank

This top is such a fun summer piece! It was quite a bit longer in the back and I was swooning over the diagonal stripe of lace. I liked it, but the fit was a bit off on me. I also tried the cardigan over it and still wasn't a fan. Summer's almost over anyway!

5.) Striped Sweater

I'm obsessed with anything striped, so I was excited to throw this one on! I liked it, but the fit was a bit awkward on me and I wasn't sold on the white stripe down the middle. I paired it with a red necklace I already had but still decided against keeping this one!

I had so much fun with my first fix! Can't wait to get the next one I scheduled to arrive on the first day back to school. I figured I've got to have something to look forward to that day. ;)

What would you have kept?!

I'm glad you kept what you kept.
The weird stripe down the blue & white and the bird tank top thing just threw me off.

And I second Samantha--what are the prices like?! I've always wanted to sign up but don't wanna waste the money to get things in the mail and then feel obligated to buy something that's overly priced so break it down for me please! :)

All of them are super cute on you!

Love the chevron top!!

LOVE that chevron top you kept--so cute!!

I've seriously thought about doing this--but, like Amber and Samantha, am nervous about price tag! (I've honestly already filled out my style profile, and set everything for "the cheaper the better" ...but just don't know if that's really true!

You chose well. :) I feel like we should shop in each others closets!

Can I ask how much each item was? I have always wanted to try stitch fix, but the price tag always worries me!
