Summer Fitness Goals + Rewards

Last night, I was stalking my bloggy friend Rachel who's currently in the midst of getting FIT and rocking it! I saw a post of hers where she laid out all of her fitness goals and what she's going to reward herself with when she gets there. I fell in LOVE with that idea. What better way is there to map out my fitness goals for the summer?!

Goal: Attend my first three yoga classes with Karin at Return Yoga! I'm actually really excited about this one, I'm just a teeny bit nervous because there's always that point you have to push yourself past before meeting someone new... I plan to have this one accomplished by next Friday, though!
Reward: A new pair of yoga pants straight off the racks of TJ Maxx! (I still like a killer deal!)

Goal: Reach the halfway point of the C25K program. I'm typically a naturally motivated runner. I'm passionate about it, I love to do it... The only problem is that sometimes my pain limits me and I get caught up in the expectations I have for myself. I feel like following a laid out program will be an easier transition!
Reward: It Doesn't Get Easier, You Get Stronger tank from Abundant Heart.

Goal: Register for my first 5K! Eeeeeeek! This will actually require me to find one in my area as well. I'm going to need some encouragement to complete this one. ;)
Reward: Get a new pair of running shoes. I've been eyeing up the yellow Nike Air Pegasus' for awhile. :)

Goal: Run 15 miles in 30 days. I've seen a lot of the #30MilesIn30Days floating around on Instagram, but I know that goal is not reasonable for me right now. I think 15 miles is the perfect place for this girl to start!
Reward: Finally purchase myself a !

Goal: Complete The 300 Challenge. Oh, Lordy. I know this one will be painful. But seriously - it's time to get some ABS up in here!
Reward: Get myself a SkinnyMeg approved sports bra... And I better get started on this one ASAP because a need a proper sports bra BAD, BAD, BAD.

I'm excited to see where I'm sitting next week at this time! This week, my focus is on yoga and getting some miles under my belt. Let's see where that takes me, shall we? :)

Now: to hit the gym today and keep working on these abs! I'm retaking my ACT tomorrow morning - somebody pray I don't lose my mind during those 4, seemingly endless hours. I'm gonna need some serious yoga to unwind me after THAT.

HAPPY WEEKEND!

I seriously think I almost died from the 300 challenge. Okay that's not true, but my hip flexors hurt so bad that I quit after two days of walking around work like an old lady.

I hope your experience is better than mine!! Good luck with all your goals! The reward system is a great idea! :)

Hey girl. I haven't written you much on here but I feel such a connection to you because of what you are going through. I am 30 now but I had Fibromyalgia/Chronic Fatigue for years before I was diagnosed at age 19. Going through some of your life events with the knowledge of your limitations is a powerful tool. I think it is so inspiring to see you using those limitations to motivate yourself instead of as an excuse. I still after all these years have to start slowly and take things easy - and it's worth it! I think the way you have your goals and your work outs set up is just so smart and empowering. You get it girl! xoxo

If you want something that tracks distance the polar watch does not do that. Check our the Garmin watches. :)

I love this idea...which has inspired me to write out my own goals. I especially love that you don't reward yourself with food! :) P.S. I'm a new follower. :)

I love this. I think one of my probably is that my goals are too big. I make it a goal to "lose 15 pounds" and then I get frustrated when it takes me 100 years to get there. So I am going to make some of these little ones too! Thanks for the inspiration!

A few things:
1. LOVE the reward system...that is something I have always done with all my fitness goals, which is why I own an insane amount of workout clothes :-)
2. The Nike Air Pegasus in my shoe!! I have run in them for years and I love them! I run in Nike Frees for races and such now, but I still train in my good old Pegasus :-)
3. I set a goal to run a "half century" this month (50 miles. I might die) even though a bunch of my running buddies are shooting for the full "century". I know that running 100 miles in a month is absolutely NOT possible for me and as hard as it is sometimes to accept that and not follow the pack...I just try to remember that we are all striving for the same thing. It doesn't matter if we run 1 mile or 100 miles this month...at least we are trying and above all else, at least we have passion!!

So good for you honey. Keep up the great work and SIGN UP FOR THAT 5K!!!

Although I'm tracking calories with MFP and doing the exercising and using my Polar, I'm not really setting goals and rewards. I need to do that. I love your list!
