My Unofficial Love Languages

Ever since my early teenage years, I've loved taking quizzes that tell me about what type of person I am. That makes me sound insecure or unsure of myself, but it's actually the opposite of that. I just like that freaky feeling I get when someone/something knows me so well that I'm 99.9% sure that they can read my mind. Weird? Yes, but we already knew that! Ha!

That's where the 5 Love Languages come in. They're pretty popular, so I won't do too much elaborating! You can Google it and take the quiz for yourself + browse the website if you're interested even the littlest bit! According to the quiz, my love languages are quality time and words of affirmation...

I seriously could not agree more! I totally think both of those things are right on about me and what I need to feel loved and appreciated. However? Those, my friends, are certainly not the only way to this girl's heart. There are just a few things that I consider a neccessity in order to be a happy camper. Thus, I bring you the two things I think missed the cut. Sad day. ;)

S C A R V E S

I know it's old news, but I'm almost positive I couldn't live without them. Getting a new scarf is like Christmas to me. Notice how not one of these pictures is of me wearing the same one? Yeah, that. It's a problem that I'm actively trying to control maintain!

C O F F E E

Realistically, is any one surprised by this? Na na na na nooooo. Put a cup of coffee in my hands and you've got yourself a happy Kenzie until the Heaven sent caffeine wears off...

What things do you claim as your unofficial love languages?

Oh how I love this! I would have to agree that scarves are one of my love languages! Maybe shopping in general? (It's so fun being a girl...most of the time!)

I'm definately a quality time girl. Time is one thing you can't ever get back and spending time with me means more to me than words can express. Coffee is a BIG one for me to, COFFEE runs through my veins. I love at any and all times of the day and in all different forms: black, doctored up with cream and sugar, iceed, frozen, from home, at work, from Starbucks. I think you get the picture I LOVE COFFEE :)

Haha, I love it! :) I'd say coffee and my camera, probably.

Can't say I'm surprised - I came out Quality Time and Physical Touch, and that seems about right!

I will say that I knew Jason spoke my particular love languages when his Christmas present for me this last year was a paisley coffee mug, two pairs of SmartWool socks, and he bought me coffee out and about. He hates that I keep buying coffee mugs, he thinks SmartWool socks are too expensive, he thinks paisley is ugly, and he hates spending money in coffee shops. And yet he bought all those things for me because he knew each of those things was something I love.

Caffeine, at least, is definitely it for me. While I was stuck on the couch recovering from surgery, Jason brought me back a chai latte when I asked, and didn't even roll his eyes (the aforementioned hates-to-spend-money-at-coffeeshops issue).

We were given the Love Languages book as a wedding present, and it's kind of hokey, but there's such value to the concept. Jason and I do both express love in different ways, and it really helps to be able to reference and think, "Okay, he's not blowing me off, he's actually telling me he loves me, just not in the same way I would tell him."

I just bought a scarf that feels amazing.. and now I'm going to buy more! Because they feel so good on my neck like you had mentioned.

I do love me some coffee. A lot of my ig pics are me & coffee :)

ha I love taking quizzes for the same reasons!! I love when the results are just so spot on!

I took the quiz and got acts of services & quality time. Which as a wife - makes perfect sense.

I took the quiz and got the same results as you! It's kind of funny how a computer can match one so well!

My real love language is Words of Affirmation. But I'd say my unofficial ones are fashion, makeup and photos!

I think scarves also missed my list as well! I'm obsessed with them!! Quality is also on my list as well :)

My husband and I did this when we first got engaged. It was fun to see what we thought and what we actually were.

i love gary chapman. i find that our love languages definitely do change over time. i used to think acts of service and gifts were my love languages but now i think they are quality time and words of affirmation. and sure enough, i took the quiz again, it does put quality time at the very top followed by words of affirmation.

love me some scarves and coffee too! although i'm trying to kick my starbucks habit bec it is out of control! :)
